to say it was a treat... i mean like the yummiest kind.
from the goodness kimberlee whipped up in the kitchen...
to the happy in my heart.

waking up in the whatever craft house...
was pretty much as surreal as i thought it might be.
kind of like walking onto the set of your favorite show.
you've seen it lots... many times... but this time you get to be IN it.

getting to be a helper i flew in thursday afternoon...
that way i'd be there & ready for friday.
i got to hang with & get to know kimberlee & meg better.
they are a hoot!
fun to be with and comfortable to be around.
their beauty... what you see... it goes to the core.

i even got to play with stanley.

all of the ladies were awesome...
truly neat!
i feel super blessed to have met each of them.
and really loved how they all embraced the fun... they leaped right in.
so neat to see.
neat to see meg & kimberlee shine too.
sharing their beautiful God given talents.
He gave them big portions.

the house... oh the house... what is it about an old home?
they speak to you.
share their soul.
i was listening.

the cherry on top...
i got to help along side Jess!
i've adored & admired her from a far for sO long.
her spirit... her heart... her pretty style.
the adoration... well... it just got bigger.

so many little parts & pieces i'll remember.
all so special.
a gift... i was so lucky to get to open.

we've never left home for christmas... this was a first.
loading up the sleigh with all that's required was quite the feat....
but we did it!
we made our way to bulverde... kerrville... and even a quick stop in new braunfels.

made sure to bring the remaining countdown bags... didn't want to miss that.

btw... do your kids fight over the "back" seats too?
good gravy... it's the hot spot.

the girl's nonny.

my sister julie.

and don't even get me started on the gun thing.
that would be her new pink bb.

my aunt tio clipped some pretties from the yard to make the tables festive.
campbell had a ball helping.

riley read the night before christmas for all of us... on the night before.
such a treat!

tio also started showing campbell how to crochet.
oh my goodness... caught the bug... she was lOving it!

we did the traditional eve gift... jammies... of course.

lil bit brought her reindeer food too.

pretty neat... since obviously we didn't have our stockings...
the girls got to use ours... from when my sister and i were kids.

socks were quite the hit with this one!

it seemed like each day flew by.
this christmas was such a flash.
i know it feels like that every... but no doubt... this was the fastest!

i am glad there was lots of time to visit though.
down time to just be together.
play cards.
enjoy wine & way too much food.
sleep in.
stay up late.
be silly.
watch the kid's skits.

sibs... my mama and uncle hut.

and what a gift... my hubby even did dishes.
he knows i'm teasing!
although i might just frame these pics!

we celebrated my hubby... todd's birthday... christmas eve.
family in indiana face-timed to give wishes too.

as then...
as if we had just unloaded... hopped out of the car...
we were loading up... hopping back in... to head out.

it was a blessing.
to get to freely celebrate our savior's birthday.
be able to give gifts.
travel near to be with the ones we love.
gather memories to be cherished.

our thanksgiving...

celebrating, travelingcarissa fox4 Comments

well... november came... and went!

this year... we all headed to Goliad... all 38 of us... for our annual gathering.
it was good to the last drop.
every bit of it!

the food... once again... too good for words.
wish i would have had more.
it's only once a year for goodness sakes!

i laughed when i uploaded these pics... look two pinocchio's.

those rising rolls... they smelled sO good... and they melted in your mouth!

lots of games.

my step-dad... aka granpapa.

my hubby... and my uncle hut.

lots of laughing.
and actually my cousin tyler took those last four pics...
and some how managed to not get in one shot.
speaking of.. there are a few other special people that were missed too.
darn it.
next year... you better watch out!  :O)

some of us got to take naps.

lots of silly.
that's my cute cousin libbye!

my sister julie & i.
i know... a little too close... but we tried to take it ourselves.

my mama... and second cousin.

my uncle newton...
and some of us hogging the yummo dip & hOmemAde chips my cousin made.
ridiculously good!

another neat thing... since we were in Goliad...
we got to go to the Presidio... where todd & i were married thirteen years ago.

it's still gives me chills.
the history & beauty... are something else.
i need to do a post about Goliad all on it's own one day...
what i will say...
if you live in Texas... the re-enactment every March... is amazing.
an experience you'll never forget.

pam and i loved the yellow "growing" on the doors.
pics just can't do it justice.

making her plan in the dirt.

so much fun seeing it all again.
we had the best tour guide too... of course... thanks uncle newton.
what a treat it was!

and one more thing...
yes i let her pic two...
off someone eLse's tree.

they were right outside the inn we were staying...
and looked ripe & fresh for the pickens.  :O)

the inn... really an 1800's house recently fixed up... was too cute!
we loved everything about it.
yep... pretty much everything.

this was a neat cellar where she added a grate on the floor so you could see down into it too.
forgot to get a pic of the gate to it... it was cool!
and don't have one of the upstairs.
the beds were scrumptious...
jump up & plop yourself in yummy... kind.

getting to see everyone... visit... just bE together... was simply awesome!
like i said... to the last drop.

before we knew it though... we all had to say goodbye.

and somehow tomorrow is december?!
someone slap me!

hope your november... your thanksgiving... was special too!
just think of all the fun december has in store!
