easy peasy

ok... so some of y'all wanted a little "how to" for the thankfuls board.

super simple... way easy peasy...
i went for the garden gate (found outside... in garden... at home improvement)...
but chicken wire of course works too.
whatever you prefer... maybe have on hand.

some small nails... hammer... wire cutters... and any size open frame.
here i'm using a 28 x 32... just to give you a bit of reference.

depending on the size frame...
you can choose how you want the rectangles to be oriented within the frame.
i ran them tall/vertical... because... hmmm... not sure... was just my mood... :).

roll it out to check for symmetry... not perfection... just eye balling.
i like the rectangles to be spaced similarly across all sides...
hope that makes sense?
just centered within the frame.
and snip... obviously making sure you have room to nail.

if you have a heavy duty/upholstery stapler... you can use it... really easy...
but wouldn't you know... i went to make this this morning...
and it was jammed...
i tried & tried...
thought i better stop... for fear it came loose... & i staple out my eye... :).

once you have snipped it to size needed...
all you have to do is nail it snug in place.
make sure to use large head nails... as that is what holds the wire down.
this is important if you go the nail route.

securing all the way around the frame.
if needed...
use a couple in the same spot... to give more of an anchor.
i used approx 18 on this frame... just to give you an idea.
really... you're just making sure it's snug in there... that's it.

for fun... thought i'd mention another option to the wooden clips.
little round magnets!
had some on hand...  so gave it a try.
really like the simple look it gives.
why not!
another option.
whatever works for you... and your frame's intended purpose.

now... if you'd rather not have to go out & buy wire... don't have any on hand...
i bet you have some sort of twine.... string... even ribbon?

just space out nails along two sides... or all four (if you'd like a grid look)...
and wrap the twine (or like)... pulling tightly... then knot.

how easy is THAT?!
again... just another option... another way.

if you like the metal look...
floral wire is fun & can also be used in place of the twine.
same way... just use the wire instead of the twine.

that's it... see... oh so simple!

your frame is all ready to be loaded up with all those "thankfuls".
OR... whatever fun thing you think up.
oodles & oodles of options.

if you decide to make one... i'd love to hear!
let us know how you used yours.

sure hope friday... this first day of november... has you smiling too!
