it's been interesting... that's the word that comes to mind...
when i think of the move that we've just been through.

since i've been out of pocket lately...
i really haven't shared about where things stand with the "house".
what you may know... not know... what i've mentioned... not mentioned.

when they loaded us up on the truck in wyoming...
pretty much all but what was in our closets went into storage.
you name it... it's in storage.

anywho...
we are currently living in a furnished temporary apartment.
and like i said... it's been pretty interesting.

making the move was big.
now not being surrounded by what we know has felt big too.
 does that makes sense?

in a way i feel ashamed even sharing.
and find it hard to even explain.

we left what felt like "home"... being surrounded by familiar comforts...
and now i feel a bit misplaced.
sort of like we're staying in a hotel... just with no housekeeper.
and... we're checked in for a long stay!
the furniture feels germy... and the dryer takes ten hours just to dry one load!
there is nowhere to escape... it's small!
trying to keep the girls squeals at bay... to not disturb...... hard!
blah blah blah...
wah wah wah...
i sound ridiculous!
like i'm wearing a big 'ol pity party hat!

for goodness sake...
we HAVE an apt to live in... that i am very capable of cleaning...
and a dryer is better than a clothes line!
we are blessed!
to be safe... all together... and we ARE truly grateful...
just adjusting.
and venting.

since we're going to be here awhile...
i have a feeling i am going to learn many lessons...
be reminded lots...
of just how lucky we ARE!

one thing... that may seem... sound... and look silly but...
we're finding HELPS...
is adding touches here & there.
touches of things that make us smile.
simple things.

with the girls constant... and love of... creating...
we decided to tack up some baker's twine & start pinning up some of their colorful fun.

i really think it helps them feel like they are creating a bit of a "home".
helping...
putting some of their touch into the space.

frankly... i couldn't think of anything better i'd like to have on the walls...
than something made by our little gals.
yes... it HELPS!
and just look at her face of determination!

had to share some of campbell's paper house she made the other day too!
the things that stir in her head!

patterned paper area rugs...
checkered tile floors...
popsicle stick bunk beds...
 toothpick closet rods...
and used up tape roles... make really fly wheels!

a good lesson for me...
her paper house.
making the most of what she has... where she is...
and realizing it can be fun too!

btw... on the "house" front... hoping i can share more tomorrow.
nothing grand... blow-horn worthy but...
progress!

hoping this finds you pinning up some fun in your day too!
